Attalia Harbor, Gateway for the Gospel

2022.05.13

On their first missionary journey, Paul and Barnabas went to the harbor of the city of Attalia in order to sail back to their home church in Antioch of Syria (Acts 14:25).

Today, the city is called Antalya, and it still uses the bay for small ships. Local Turks enjoy sitting on the breaker, eating sesame seeds, drinking beer, smoking cigarettes, and watching the sunset. To them, it’s just another harbor (and in one sense, it is). But how many of them understand that their land was blessed by the gospel because of these shores?
