A Critique of the Old Creationist View

How old is the earth? While it’s not exactly a question as old as time, it might just be one of the most contentious questions within modern day evangelicalism. Science seems to say one thing, while the Scriptures seem to say an entirely different thing. If we believe that the God who wrote His Word is the same God who created the universe, shouldn’t they agree?

I think they should. I wrote an essay for a seminary course critiquing modern arguments for an old earth, and argue from both Scripture and science that the earth is actually quite young. You can download the essay here.
